Amanda's Fairly Extraordinary Playlist

I love music. All kinds of music. So much that my family would probably describe it as TOO MUCH. Many a Family Game Night has ended because my family grew tired of me singing little bits of songs that related to whatever was being said at the table. From Jazz to Broadway, African Drum Collectives to Country, I pride myself on saying, my playlist is a little more than ordinary. Let's put it to the test!

Amanda's Recently Played Songs

"I Don't Know My Name" Grace VanderWaal

This girl has an amazing talent. I love her raw voice in this song. She is incredible. This song popped up on my recommended music the other day and I have been listening to her albums non-stop. This song in particular has been stuck in my head

"A Summer in Ohio" from the album The Last Five Years (Original Cast Recording)

If you see me in traffic, there is a 98% chance that I am belting this song out in my own little caraoke. My boss mentioned it to me a few months ago and I now want to use it as my audition song for every future musical.

"Piano Concerto No. 23 in A Major" Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Performed by London Festival Orchestra & Ferdinand Lang

Most of my collection of classical, jazz, and African Drum Collectives was built during college. I like to have music playing when I work, but I get too distracted by words and a desire to sing and dance to everything I hear. (Note that currently "Down On The Corner" by Creedence Clearwater Revival is on and I am definitely dancing in my seat.) If you pop into my office at Fitton, that's probably what is on to spare my coworkers having to listen to me.

"What Is This Feeling?" from the album Wicked (Original Broadway Cast Recording)

Wicked is one of my favorite shows. I've seen it three times with my friends. I quote this song a lot to my little sister. A fun fact: Rumor has it that the metal dragon that hangs above the stage only weighs about 70lbs!

"LEMONS" Brye

Ending this list with a song that TikTok introduced to me. Brye has a fantastic alternative pop vibe. As soon as I heard it, Brye got added to my cleaning playlist. I love listening to fun music when I'm cleaning. And yes, then the mop does become my microphone.

*Artists with multiple songs in the playlist were skipped. Amanda does not skip around this much in her music listening sessions.
