Due to the conditions of the COVID-19 Pandemic, The Fitton Center for Creative Arts will be making adjustments to fall classes for the safety of our students and staff this year.
Please review the information on this page completely before registering for any of our fall classes or workshops.
In order to provide the best class experience for everyone, Fitton Center is following the CDC Guidelines and the protocols outlined by The State of Ohio, made in consultation with the City of Hamilton’s Health Department.
We are taking every precaution we can to ensure the safety of students, families and Fitton Center staff to ensure that everyone is safe, and feels safe at all times, to the very best of our ability.
Classes will be limited to nine (9) students or fewer per class.
There will be one teacher per nine (9) students.
All payments must be made one week in advance of class. Payment should be made via credit card only. No cash or checks will be accepted.
No one, including parents and siblings, can be in the building during class time except for students and staff.
Each day, after class, our facility will be cleaned including, but not limited to restrooms, banisters (indoor and outside), and floors vacuumed.
High touch areas in the room are the teacher’s responsibilities to be cleaned through the day.
CDC Fever Definition
A fever is a temperature of 100.4 degrees F.
If a student, or family member has been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, then the student must be symptom free for 14 days before they are able to attend a class session.
Assumption of Risk
An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to The Center for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens, and guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. By visiting Fitton Center for Creative Arts, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
Prior to Fitton Arrival - PRE-SCREENING
Fitton Center for Creative Arts encourages students to begin pre-screening 14 days before class begins. Please also ensure no other family members have any symptoms.
Please track the following:
Temperature-taking and recording the student's temperature for 14 days before class (refer to the individual instructions provided with your thermometer).
Self-screening for the presence of symptoms (fever of 100.4 °F or greater, chills, muscle aches, runny nose, sore throat, cough, shortness of breath, nausea, vomiting, headache, abdominal pain, diarrhea, loss to taste or smell, difficulty breathing, and conjunctivitis) within the past two weeks.
No national or international travel for the two weeks prior to class.
If the student or student's family has been in close contact with a person who has been diagnosed with, tested for, or quarantined as a result of COVID-19, please reschedule your class.
Wear a facial covering that includes covering mouth, nose, and chin.
Wash hands frequently along with using hand sanitizer.
Sanitize hands after working with any individual student before interacting with the next student.
Monitor health each day, including taking temperature prior to arrival at work each day.
During Class (for Instructors):
Make sure students wash their hands regularly.
Ensure social distancing between students.
Communicate with staff for any additional needs that may arise throughout the day.
Clean high touch areas in their room.
Being healthy- no fever, chills, muscle aches, runny nose, sore throat, cough, shortness of breath, nausea, vomiting, headache, abdominal pain, diarrhea, loss to taste or smell, difficulty breathing, or conjunctivitis.
Bring their own water bottle daily.
Bring their own mask daily.
Wearing a mask is required for all individuals 10 and up while in our building.
Maintain appropriate social distance (6 ft.) with fellow students.
Listen to teachers and Fitton Center for Creative Arts staff.
Wash hands regularly, and when asked by faculty.
Wash hands before leaving class.
Having Fun and Being Creative!
(for our Younger Students)
Ensure their child is healthy each day of class.
Talk to your child about Fitton Center’s procedures outlined on this page.
Provide a mask daily. Masks are required but will not be provided by the Fitton Center.
Provide a water bottle daily.
Explain to child the rules of social distancing (6 ft.)
Explain to child the importance of washing their hands often.
Wear a mask during pick up and drop off.
If you/your child does not feel well, regardless of a fever, please stay home.
If a you/your child is sick, they will not be allowed at class.
If a student becomes ill during class they will be sent home.
If a sick student withdraws from a class 7 days before it is to begin or earlier, 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
If student withdraws from a class less than 7 days before it is to begin, 50% of the tuition will be refunded
NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN ONCE CLASSES HAVE BEGUN. If a student becomes sick during the week, they will not be allowed at class. No refunds or credits will be given.
Social Distance Policy
According to the State of Ohio Director’s Stay Safe Ohio Order, social distancing requires maintaining a six (6) foot social distancing for both employees and members of the public at all times.
Student Warnings for Repeated Social Distancing Violations
First violation will result in a warning to the student.
Second violation will result in a warning to the student's parents.
Third violation will result in dismissal from the class (no refunds given.)
