Maria Schmidt threw a curveball at the Fitton Center audience during her February 10 Celebrating Self appearance - Chasing Ghosts.
Oh, she definitely took guests on a supernatural tour around the world. From Romania to Egypt to Ireland, she discussed everything from ghosts to vampires, from angels to banshees, from apparitions to elementals.
At the end, though, the resident of Hamilton's Germantown neighborhood said her Mysterious Adventure Tours business is more about chasing mysteries than chasing ghosts.
"Ghosts are fun," she said. "But the spirit of immortality and the historic preservation is what I'm after. A haunting is a history wishing to be heard."
