Mojitos and Mosaics: Mosaic Sun Catcher

Age: 21+

Spring: Thursday, February 16th| 6:30 – 8:30 pm

Enjoy sipping a cocktail while creating a colorful stained-glass sun catcher. Design options include a heart, bird, butterfly, or feather. Students will learn how to cut glass tiles to create colorful mosaics. Finished projects will be grouted by the instructor, and students will be contacted when they are ready for pickup at the Fitton Center office. All supplies, two drinks, and snacks included.

Soup Bowl Workshop

Instructor: Abbie Webster

Age: 13+

$70/members, $80/non-members

Spring: Saturdays, February 25th and March 11th | 10:00am - 12:00pm

It's chilly outside, so now is the perfect time for soup! Students will create their own soup bowls using ceramic techniques in this two-part workshop. In the first class, students will be introduced to basic hand building, throwing, and handle pulling. In the second class, students will glaze their bowls with their choice of colors and textures. Basic skills or previous experience in ceramics are required to participate. All supplies included.

Screen-Printing Workshop

Instructor: Billy Simms

Age: 13+

$35/members, $45/non-members

Spring Session: Saturday, March 4th | 10:00am - 12:00pm

An introduction to stencil screen-printing techniques. Learn how to cut and weed a design, mask a screen, and print your design. This technique can easily be repeated at home with no need for an exposure unit or emulsion. No previous experience required to participate. All supplies included.

Mosaics and Merlot: Wine Glasses

Instructor: Lori Kay Farr

Age: 21+

$35/members, $45/non-members

Spring: Thursday, March 9th | 6:30 – 8:30pm

Design an original mosaic on the bottom foot of a wine glass using a variety of colorful glass tiles. Finished projects will be grouted by the instructor, and students will be contacted when they are ready for pickup at the Fitton Center office. All supplies, two drinks, and snacks included.

Art + Wine

Instructor: Jamie Schorsch

Age: 21+

Spring: Thursday, March 16th| 6:30 - 8:30pm


Theme: Seascapes

Choose from two inspirational paintings by Cincinnati artist Frank Duveneck, “Marine” or “Horizon at Gloucester.”

Create unique art while enjoying wine and snacks. Knowledgeable instructors blend individualized hands-on painting instruction with art history and technique lessons, while also creating a wonderful social and educational experience that encourages creativity. All supplies, two drinks, snacks, and pre-prepared canvases are included in the cost of the workshop. Students will be asked to select their choice of inspirational paintings at registration.

Wearable Mosaics

Instructor: Lori Kay Farr

Age: 13+

$35/members, $45/non-members

Spring: Thursday, March 30th | 6 – 8pm

Learn how to create a mini-mosaic pendant, bracelet, or keychain. Cut stained glass and tiles to shape into a one-of-a-kind wearable mosaic. While all supplies are included, students may bring their own tiny beads or tiles to incorporate. One mosaic base is included with the cost of the class. New bezel shapes available!

Pysanka: Ukrinian Egg Dyeing

Instructor: Lori Kay Farr

Age: 13+

$53/members, $63/non-members

Spring Session: Saturday, April 1st | 10:00am - 1:00pm

Pysanka, which means "to write," is a traditional Ukrainian folk-art form that uses a wax-resist method of dyeing eggs. In this workshop, students will learn about the symbolism of traditional pysanky eggs, and create their own patterns. Students will use styluses to melt beeswax and draw designs on hollow goose eggs, then dip the eggs into a wide range of dyes to create endless patterns. At the end of the project, the wax will be melted away to reveal the designs!
