“Holding opposites” is a meditation practice that teaches the experience of feeling contrasting emotions and qualities simultaneously. It encourages the idea of embracing possibility – rather than the limitations of either/or, we can expand to both/and. It jives with an open-heart approach to life and my feelings as an ally. The repetitive process of stitching multiples of the word “AND” together is a daily reminder of this attitude of openness. We are individuals AND family.
