COVID-19 PROCEDURES & PROTOCOLS

After consulting directly with the City of Hamilton’s Health Commissioner, as we have throughout the past 18 months, she has recommended lifting the Fitton Center’s mask mandate, with some exceptions (listed below):

Summary:

  • If you are an adult or youth over the age of 12 who has been vaccinated, masks are optional (unless you are in a space with children.)

  • If you are an adult or youth over the age of 12 who has not been vaccinated, masks are strongly suggested though vaccination status will not be checked.

  • Masks are mandatory for all areas with children.

  • If you are 11 or younger, a mask is required at all times while in the building.

Particulars:

  • Masks will not be required to enter the building for anyone 12 or over (who has had the opportunity to be vaccinated.)

  • Anyone who is not vaccinated is asked to wear a mask.

  • Masks will be required for all children 11 and under (who have not had the opportunity to be vaccinated.)

  • Staff will not be required to wear masks for day to day operations outside their offices. However, when in a space where children have to wear masks, staff will wear one also.

  • Fitton Family Fridays will be still be fully masked. This is as most of the attendees are under 11 and are required to. We ask that all other patrons wear a mask to support the kids and ensure they don’t feel excluded.

  • Masks will be freely available at the front door.

  • Anyone who wants to wear a mask is encouraged to do so, be it staff or patron.
