1.) To protect you, our campers, and our staff we will not be holding public Friday Celebrations this summer.

 

2.) The following camps listed in the Summer 2020 Education Brochure have been rescheduled:

Little Artist Camps (Ages 5 – 9)

 

Wonderland Camp

Ages: 5 - 9
Instructor: Sharon Theard

Take a trip through the looking glass! In Wonderland Camp we will make playing card soldiers, talking flowers, and a pocket watch so that late rabbit can be on time! Our whimsical week will conclude with a madcap tea party!

Color Science Camp

Ages: 5 - 9
Instructor: Natalie Tritt

Join us in the color science lab and discover what happens when we mix science and art!

In this camp we’ll learn all about how to combine different colors to create new ones! Using what we learn about color mixing we’ll make secondary color potion bottles, self-portraits where we learn to mix our own skin tones, monochromatic ice cream paintings, and analogous color geodes

3D Art Camp

Ages: 5 - 9
Instructor: Natalie Tritt

Take your art off the page and into the real world! In this camp we will learn techniques for making three-dimensional works of art. We’ll create abstract sculptures, mobiles, paper roller coasters, and even 3D pizzas! If you like to build your art, then this is the camp for you!

Top-Secret Camp

Ages: 5 - 9
Instructor: Sharon Theard

It takes a lot of creativity to be a super-sleuth! In this camp we’ll investigate how to write with invisible ink, dust for fingerprints, and create a disguise.  We will also make Sherlock-style hats and pairs of binoculars. Get ready for some sneaky fun!

Youth Camps (Ages 7 – 12)

 

Favorite Things Clay Camp

Ages: 7 - 12
Instructor: Julie Blair

Learn how to hand-build and use a variety of decorating techniques to make works of art with clay! Personalize and design your projects with your favorite characters, animals or designs. Campers will even get to throw a bowl on the pottery wheel!

Up-cycled Art Camp

Ages: 7 - 12

In this camp we’re going green (but don’t worry, we’ll use other colors too!) Learn all about upcycling, or creatively reusing materials for new purposes! Turn water bottles into beautiful fish and cute penguins. Transform cardboard tubes into sculptural bees and bird feeders. We’ll even learn to weave a basket from old newspapers!

Under the Big Top Camp

Come one, come all, the Fitton Circus is in town! Inspired by the amazing acts in the circus, we'll make a trapeze, fancy horses, a strongman barbell, and more! Step right up for the greatest camp of all!

July 6 – 10 | 9:30am – 12:30pm

Terrific Tiles Camp

Ages 7 - 12

Instructor: Lori Kay Farr

$105.00/members, $125.00/non-members

This camp will teach the basics of creating mosaics using a bunch of unique materials! Campers will have the opportunity to design their own individual mosaics and work with a group on a variety of projects. We will use a wide range of tesserae from stone, to glass, ceramic, and more! Learn basic design elements needed in creating mosaics such as how to cut and shape tiles and how to grout a finished artwork.

July 27 - 31 | 1:00 – 4:00pm

Incredible Ink! Camp

Ages: 7 - 12
Instructor: Billy Simms

Learn all about the artform of printmaking using hand techniques and real printing presses! Campers will learn several printmaking methods in this camp including relief printing (carving into a flat surface and printing the design multiple times) and monotype printing (creating unique, one-of-a-kind prints.) Campers will even have the opportunity to make wearable prints using a button press!

July 13 – 17 | 9:30am – 12:30pm

Teen Camps (Ages 12 – 16)

 

Printmaking Camp

Ages: 12 - 16
Instructor: Billy Simms
$105.00/members, $125.00/non-members

Learn the artform of printmaking using hand techniques and real printing presses. Explore a variety of printmaking methods and discover how to edition (make multiple copies of) your designs to create custom holiday/birthday cards, posters, and collages. Campers will even have the opportunity to make wearable prints by printing on fabric and using a button press!

July 13 – 17 | 2:00 - 5:00pm

Fashion Accessories & Jewelry Camp

Ages: 12 - 16
Instructor: Sharon Theard
$105.00/members, $125.00/non-members

Express your unique style by making your own accessories and jewelry. In this camp we’ll make jewelry-button rings, dream-catcher necklaces, unicorn headbands, and shrinkable charms! We will also learn an easy way to braid friendship necklaces to share with your BFFs!

July 27 – 31 | 1:00 - 4:00pm
