The Cincinnati Ballet offered Dance Discovery classes as part of its Fitton Center residency March 18.
We opened the doors to the studio and the Ballet's education department opened the imaginations of a couple dozen young dancers.
Pupils learned French terms used in ballet - plie (to bend), port des bras (arm position) and others - as well as several ballet pantomime words and phrases. Then learned how to put those terms into practice.
(The class for 4- to 7-year-olds also featured some impromptu hug breaks so the kids could show some love to their families.)
By the end of each class, students performed a short combination putting together everything they learned.
