This fall season our Community Engagement Team has been busy taking part in a couple events around town, and thanks to everyone who stopped by, they were huge successes! On Saturday September 25th we had our tent set up for the Liberty Township Fall Festival, and then this past weekend, October 9th and 10th, we took part in Operation Pumpkin right here in downtown Hamilton.
We kicked off the fall season over in Liberty Township, and even though the day started off a little dreary, it quickly brightened up as more and more families stopped by Liberty Park for the festivities. We had our tent set up right between the food trucks and giant inflatables, a great location that got plenty of families to stop by and chat with us! We had a fun craft set up where visitors could make a felt leaf magnet, and even though the wind was out full force, it didn’t stop us from having a great time.
Next, we took part in Operation Pumpkin, where we also had a craft table set up, but we got to take it a step further and bring in a steam roller (courtesy of Hamilton Rental Center) to make some giant prints! It was a beautiful weekend to be outdoors celebrating the season.
At our craft table we had a fall themed print activity for the kids where they could use their hands to print shapes onto paper, and then we hung them up to dry all around our tent before being picked back up to take home. Then every hour we fired up the steam roller to do the same thing, just instead of hands pushing down to make the print, it was all the weight of a steam roller!
It was an absolute blast, and we couldn’t have pulled off either activity without the help of our volunteers, so a special shout-out to everyone who helped us out during these events! We had so much fun being able to get back out in the community doing hands-on art and we can’t wait to do it again. Make sure to follow us on social media and sign up for our newsletter to hear about any upcoming events we’ll be involved with, so you can stop by and say hi.
