Hamilton Current is an all-media competition open to adult artists residing within 60 miles of Hamilton. Artistic content is unlimited and if the artwork fit in the Fitton Center elevator, it was eligible to be judged. Exhibiting artists have diverse backgrounds and experience - self-taught, current students and seasoned professionals.
The resulting show represents an exciting array of creative perspectives.
The 103 artists who applied for the show submitted 261 entries, creating a challenge for jurors Andrew Au and Mallory Feltz. They selected 123 works by 90 artists for display. Both said the strength of the submitted work made selecting the pieces for inclusion difficult. And choosing award winners from among talent became even more of a challenge.
