Liberty Township, Ohio – ‘Tis the season.
The Fitton Center for Creative Arts activates its community engagement team for the first public-facing event of the spring this weekend.

Assistant Director of Education and Community Outreach Caroline Digiovenale plans an appropriately themed creative craft for the annual Liberty Township Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, April 12. The event runs from 10 a.m. to noon at the park area of Liberty Center (7100 Foundry Way, West Chester, Ohio 45069).
Guests not only will enjoy the free egg hunt in the park, but have a chance to make their own FREE keepsake eggs at the Fitton Center tent.
“I’m calling them 3-D Abstract Eggs,” Digiovenale said. “They’re these colorful, waxy string-like things that we wrap around a balloon. Then we pop the balloon. What’s left is a finished product that’s colorful like an Easter egg and suggests an oval shape like an Easter egg.
“But they also have this ethereal quality because they actually just suggest the egg shape. Since they’re hollow, they let a lot of light in and through the abstract egg, so it will look good from a lot of different angles.”
Digiovenale anticipates a good crowd for this fun family event.
“Last year, we had a little over 200 people - parents and kids - so this year we’re planning on supplies for 200 kids,” she said. “They’ve lengthened the time of the event by half an hour, so I’m expecting a few more kids this year.”
The Easter egg hunt is the first of many opportunities to catch the Fitton Center out in the community in the coming months. They’ll be back in Liberty Township for Creative Art in the Park starting in June, as well as providing craft opportunities at community festivals like Hamilton Pride and Juneteenth.
