Hamilton, Ohio – One of the premiere public art programs in the region needs new work.
StreetSpark - a partnership between the Fitton Center for Creative Arts and the City of Hamilton - placed a call to artists with a request for qualifications.
Following the success of its ElectriCITY event in June, StreetSpark’s next project will be rolling artwork. Area artists have an opportunity to submit designs to decorate a Butler County Regional Transit Authority bus with a graphic wrap.
“The number of people we engage – artists, volunteers, spectators and soon, bus passengers - is amazing,” said StreetSpark Program Manager Jennifer Acus-Smith said. “We’re changing the face of the city for the better with art that people see and enjoy without having to go to a museum or a gallery.”
The submission process opened July 8 and runs through July 31. It culminates with three buses bearing StreetSpark artist designs come fall.
