Campaign focuses on community

Hamilton, Ohio – The Fitton Center for Creative Arts announced the start of its 2025-2026 annual campaign Monday, October 20.

With a theme of “Connecting Community Through Creativity,” the campaign goal stands at $100,000 to support unfunded work the non-profit arts organization does in and around the city of Hamilton and throughout Butler County.

“Most people know the Fitton Center for its incredible shows and the excellence of its five art galleries,” said Director of Development Ramona Toussaint. “Some people know us for outstanding hands-on art classes or huge community engagement events like Operation Pumpkin where we interact with thousands of our neighbors.

“Fewer people know about - or get to see - the important work we’re doing to enrich the community outside our own walls. It may be less visible, but those outreach efforts are the very heart of our mission.”

Toussaint hosted a series of community conversations with a variety of stakeholders to introduce the 2025-2026 campaign last week. She shared a brief video highlighting a handful of the many ways the Fitton Center brings value to the city, county and region.

She also cited a recent ArtsWave study – Economic Impact of the Arts & Culture - conducted in Cincinnati that said donations to the arts have a return of more than $42 for every dollar invested, resulting in a $1.6 billion impact over a four-year span.

“A gift to the Fitton Center annual campaign helps support all those things ticket prices and class fees can’t cover,” Toussaint said. “Your investment in the Fitton Center annual campaign is an investment in making this a more connected, creative community.”

As important as monetary gifts, Toussaint hopes to engage the community with stories of how they connect with Fitton Center.

“Hearing the ‘why’ from people is so important,” she said. “We’re raising money, yes, but we’re also raising awareness. I’m excited to continue building on the great tradition of serving the community the Fitton Center has established for more than 30 years.”
