Hamilton, OH – Last time, it was one marathon musical jam and a live recording session.

This time, CFG & Family have been writing and recording more methodically over a longer period of time.
Either way, the Hamilton favorites have a new album on the horizon.
The band returns to the Fitton Center for an album release party Saturday, February 21, 2026, to celebrate the nine new tunes on Sacred Fields.
“We’ve been playing these songs at our gigs since we’ve been writing them the last couple of years,” said Casey Gomez, after whom the band is named. “Some of them feel like they’re old songs to us by now, but this is the first time they’ve been recorded.
“When you hear a song live, it’s there in the moment and it’s gone. Now people can take their time withthe songs and hear them exactly the way we meant them to be heard. It was a lot of work – we’ve just been grinding away at it - but we finally got it right.”
Since their last Fitton Center album release in May of 2023, CFG & the Family have gotten more than just recordings right. They’ve also piled up prestigious accolades, including a spot in the finals of the2024 International Blues Challenge in Memphis and both CityBeat Cincinnati and Best of Butler County 2025 Best Local Band honors.
“The new stuff is that blues, rock, funk and soul combination that we’ve been playing,” Gomez said. "It’s more of the same style from us, but we spend so much time making music, there’s a lot of emotion in the writing this time.”
The album release party features a first set highlighting the entire Sacred Fields record played in sequence by the core four-man band. The second set will include surprise guests on keyboards, horns and vocals joining CFG & The Family on some of the tunes from the previous record, as well as a taste of brand-new unreleased music.
Gomez said they plan to record the show – both audio and video – for yet another future release.“It’s pretty ambitious,” he said. “For us it’s kind of fun to push the envelope. We’ve been playing songs from the album in our live shows for a while, so it’s great to be able to get them recorded and out to a broader audience, but also to have a hometown show like this.”
Tickets for the album release party are $25* each and include a CD copy of Sacred Fields. Tickets are on sale now and are available online right here, by phone at 513-863-8873, ext. 110 or in person at the Fitton Center box office.
