Quarantine has us all feeling stir-crazy! Once this is all over, we will be wanting to go out into the town to enjoy all the wonderful places Hamilton has to offer. In no particular order, intern Becca gives us a few suggestions where to venture to get creative now AND after the stay-at-home order is lifted!

1. Petals & Wicks

This candle bar is a great addition to Hamilton's wonderful selection of small businesses! Customers can either create candles or body products with their own custom scent. They use a high-quality soy wax that keeps your home smelling great for weeks. They have over 100 different scents to use! They range from "so good you could eat it" to "springtime flowers". There are several different types of jars to pour your candle into. Petals & Wicks have also partnered with several other businesses to put on fun events for the community. You pick your scent, pour, mix, then create a custom label- how fun AND creative! Petals & Wicks is also offering DIY candle pouring/body product kits while staying safe at home!

2. The Studio

The Studio is a paint your own pottery studio right here in downtown Hamilton! They offer a wide variety of pottery for you and your family/friends to paint. This includes plates, mugs, or even banks! This is the best way to spend a couple hours relaxing and painting whatever or however you like. There is no limit to how creative you can get here. Once you are finished painting, you leave your piece there then come back once the pottery is glazed and fired to see your creation. You make memories while also having fun and being creative. The Studio is also offering Paint at Home Kits for people to order and paint while at home!

3. Secretly Shabby

Secretly Shabby is a boutique that offers a unique variety of furniture, clothing, jewelry, art supplies, and even paint classes! Their paint classes are casual hands-on introductory workshop you will learn the "basics" of furniture distressing. How fun and informative! This is a great way to get out of the house while learning new things and being creative. Secretly Shabby is offering curbside pickup for Dixie Bell Chalk Paint if you want to refurbish or amp-up any old furniture during your time in quarantine. They are also still processing orders from two great vendors located on their website!

Of course, there are SO many Hamilton businesses I can talk about. From Municipal Brew Works, Henry's Candy Shop, Scripted Studio, Main Street Vinyl and several more! We love all of our small businesses in Hamilton and supporting local.

Galleries are accessible during public building hours and prior to performances and public events.  Group gallery tours may be scheduled outside of listed gallery hours with adequate notice.  Galleries are periodically closed for the installation of new art, so please check the exhibition schedule before your visit. All exhibitions are FREE and open to the whole community.
