Raising the Bar - The Heaven

Hamilton, Ohio – When Just Strange Brothers bring their Talking Heads tribute to the Fitton Center stage Sept. 10, patrons need not worry where they’re going once the band starts Burning Down the House.

It’ll be Heaven.

Yes, Heaven is the title of a Talking Heads song, but it’s also the name of Fitton Center resident mixologist Logan Adams’ signature cocktail for the show.

Her variation on a Mexican Mule – which is itself a twist on the traditional Moscow Mule invented in 1941 New York City - offers a refreshing, cool counterpoint to the hot music.

Like the drink, the Taking Heads originated in New York City where they quickly became darlings of the new wave scene in the late 1970s. By the mid-1980s, the band blossomed into icons of the MTV age, fusing music and video into a seamless whole. For her part, Adams’ Heaven brings a whole lot of new-found truth to the Heaven lyric – “Everyone is trying to get to the bar” – and she looks forward to welcoming Fitton fans back to the shows.

Want to get to Heaven before you get to the theater?

The Heaven 1 oz tequila 1 oz peach schnapps 1.5 oz cranberry juice 1 dash orange and 1 dash aromatic bitters Cap with ginger ale
