Hamilton, Ohio – In the velvet darkness of the blackest night, burning bright, there’s a guiding bar pouring drinks no matter what – or who - you are.
Or something like that.
Aficionados of the Rocky Horror Picture Show will recognize a riff on song lyrics from the film.
Everyone else? Just enjoy the fact Fitton Center resident mixologist Logan Adams created a new signature cocktail for the Fitton Cinema screening of the cult classic on Oct. 28.
She calls it the Time Warp, after the famous song-and-dance number in the movie. “The movie is an adaptation of a stage musical,” Adams said. “The musical is a weirdly loving tribute to old sci-fi and horror movies. You wouldn’t think those three things would go together at all, but somehow they work.”
Same idea for the cocktail. The Time Warp takes disparate ingredients, mixes them together and comes up with a surprisingly robust result.
One might go so far as to say the drink is “a bit of a mind flip… into the time slip and nothing can ever be the same,” leaving consumers “spaced out on sensation like (they’re) under sedation.”
Curious? Feel free to try the Time Warp on your own time.
Here’s the lowdown: The Time Warp
In an iced cocktail shaker, add 2 oz. cabernet 2 oz. cranberry juice 1 oz. amaretto
.5 oz. raspberry liquer
Shake and strain into glass Garnish with a red-lip lollipop
