Several Fitton Center staffers participated in Hamilton's Paddle to Work Day Friday, June 23.
Executive Director Ian MacKenzie-Thurley and his executive assistant Megan Huffman shared a canoe, while Development Manager Arnita Gunn and Shaun Higgins - Executive Director of the Fitton Family YMCA - rode together in a another. In total, about 20 people filled seven canoes and five kayaks for a trip down the Great Miami River.
Paddlers arrived at Camp Campbell Gard in varying degrees of darkness starting about 6 a.m. (and were greeted by a television camera from WCPO Channel 9).
Boats hit the water a few minutes before 7 a.m. By the time they arrived at Combs Park, Nick Graham of the Journal News arrived with a drone and captured some cool video.
The event wrapped up at the Great Miami Rowing Club floating dock near B Street.
