Local station wins for broadcast of An Evening With Marty Brennaman
Hamilton, Ohio – And this one belongs to TvHamilton.

The City of Hamilton’s local cable channel won a Blue Chip Community Media Award for its broadcast of “An Evening With Marty Brennaman” at the Fitton Center last spring.
Steve Colwell picked up the award in the category Sports Non-event for programming relating to sports or athletics, but not directly to the coverage of an event.
Other nominees in the category included NKY Sports Legends – Paul Starling and the ICRC-TV Kickoff Report (Week 10).
“I was the lucky one who got to accept this Blue Chip Award on behalf of TvHamilton, but was just a small part of the team that made it happen,” Colwell said. “’An Evening with Marty Brennaman’ was a magical night.”
Indeed, the collaboration between the Fitton Center, Brennaman and the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame and Museum made a memorable theatrical event. The TvHamilton broadcast captured and preserved some remarkably candid moments with the radio broadcast legend.
Among them, a hysterical story about his former Reds on Radio partner - Hamilton native Joe Nuxhall – meeting a certain celebrity on the road in Chicago, as well some more touching recollections of the Ol’ Lefthander, whose sons Kim and Phil attended the event.
“TvHamilton is such a fantastic partner to the Fitton Center,” said Ian MacKenzie-Thurley, Fitton Center Executive Director. “We are incredibly fortunate to have Steve and Jeff Archible in our community and in support of our community.
“The Marty show was unforgettable for anyone who was there, but it’s also wonderful to have such a beautifully shot and produced recording to watch again or share with somebody who wasn’t there.”
“The Blue Chips Community Media Awards cover all of Reds’ country in southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky,” Colwell said. “Our winning speaks not only to the production quality we strive to produce, but also to the level of programming offered by the Fitton Center.”
The Blue Chips Awards honor excellence in community broadcasting in more than two dozen categories annually. The 2025 awards ceremony – honoring content created in 2024 - took place April 30 at Northern Kentucky University.
