Season Launched

Hundreds of people visited the Fitton Center Friday, Aug. 18, for the 2023-2024 Season Launch Event - Paint the Town Red.

On a perfect blue-sky evening, guests enjoyed live music by The Other Band, selfies with red paintbrushes and food from Two Women in a Kitchen on the Riverview Terrace.

Down the steps to Monumnet Avenue, people plastered more color all over the Pergola Pop-Up fabric-art installation.

Inside, Human Nature exhibition solo artists Jennifer Purdum and Amanda Maciuba greeted guests and discussed their work, while Fitton Center faculty and staff circulated through the Class Act exhibition (at least when they weren't offering live art demonstrations in the various studios throughout the building).

The Golden Tappers and Performing Arts Inc. entertained in the Fitton Family Theater, while patrons beat a steady path to the box office and main office to pick up annual memberships for the 30th Anniversary Season and get tickets for all the exciting shows therein.

Missed Painting the Town Red? No worries. Box office is open 10-6 Monday to Thursday and 10-5 Friday. And it never closes online at fittoncenter.org. Just click the "Performances" tab for the full menu of shows and events.

And with the season officially launched, it won't be long now until those shows and events begin. Join us September 6 for our first Celebrating Self luncheon - The Art Show with Rodney Veal. Fitton Family Fridays resume September 22 when Lexington Children's Theatre presents The Smartest Girl in the World. And revel in all the 30th Anniversary glory on September 30 with all the hits of the decade we were born when Saved By the 90's comes to town.

See you soon at the Fitton Center! Until then, enjoy some photos from Season Launch.
