Hamilton, Ohio – We’ve saved the date. (5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19.) We’ve marked the days. (Hey, look. Just a month away. Not that we’re counting or anything.) We’ve even given some hints.
But now it’s officially time to tell you what’s up. (Spoiler alert – it’s a big party. P-A-R-T-Y!)

The Fitton Center for Creative Arts announced details for its 2022-2023 Season Launch event – Summer Party!
Free and open to the public, Summer Party runs 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, at the Fitton Center, 101 S. Monument Ave., Hamilton, Ohio 45011.
“It’s just what the title says,” said Ian McKenzie-Thurley, Fitton Center Executive Director. “Summer. Party. It’s fun. Casual. Good friends. Good food. Good drinks. Good times.
“There’s no charge. There’s no pressure. We want people to come out have a great evening. After not being able to do this the last couple of years, our doors are open. We’re excited to welcome people back and enjoy being together again.”
80 Acres Farm – who will be featured in the Celebrating Self Series Jan. 11, 2023 - sponsors the Summer Party.
Guests at the free event will enjoy: - Food from catering partner Two Women in a Kitchen - Live summer tunes from the Marty Connor Band - A gallery-opening celebration for the new Cut Fire Fuse exhibition - Youth musical theater numbers from Performing Arts Inc. in the theater - Senior tap routines from our very own Golden Tappers in the theater - Performances by Art In Motion School of Dance in the dance studio - Poster printing and other art demonstrations in the classrooms
“That’s just the beginning,” McKenzie Thurley said. “We will have plenty of other surprises in store.”
Among them, resident mixologist Logan Adams unveils her latest signature cocktail, a special summer-time sangria available along with a full complement of beers, wines and mixed drinks at the cash bar.
Highlights of the 2022-2023 season at the Fitton Center include four primary series – Show Stoppers on the main stage, Jazz & Cabaret in the ballroom, Fitton Family Fridays in the theater and the Celebrating Self luncheon lectures – plus art exhibitions, pop-up cinema, classes, workshops and special events like the not-to-be-missed New Year’s Eve celebration.
The season opens Sept. 7 with a Celebrating Self luncheon starring former Cincinnati Bengals running back Ickey Woods. Then get ready for the first Show Stoppers performance Sept. 10 as Just Strange Brother return for Burning Down the House, their tribute to the Talking Heads. The season concludes May 20, 2023, with the Jazz & Cabaret capper, a murder mystery night set in a Roaring ‘20s speakeasy. In between, patrons will find everything from music to dance, from to magic to storytelling, from theater to holiday specials.
The box office will be open during Summer Party for anyone interested in purchasing tickets to any (or all) of the 40-plus shows on the season schedule. The Fitton Center also offers a 20% discount for season memberships through August; individual membership will be $28, while a family membership costs $56.
The Fitton Center for Creative Arts is located at 101 S. Monument Avenue on the Riverfront in downtown Hamilton, Ohio.
