Garden Mosaics Flowerpots
Age: 13 - Adult
Instructor: Lori Kay Farr

Winter Session: January 12 – February 16, 2021
​
In this class, students will learn how to create mosaics with picassiette techniques. Learn how to cut recycled dishes and cups along with glass tiles to create your own tesserae. Design whimsical faces and patterns on a flowerpot using these materials. Explore gluing techniques for curved surfaces. This class will conclude with a tutorial on how to grout and prepare the flowerpot for outdoor use.

Students will provide their own substrates. A 10 - 12" terracotta flowerpot is recommended. Students may also bring their own dishes to use if desired.

Mosaics: The Joy of Breaking Glass
Age: 13 - Adult

Winter Session: January 13 – February 17, 2021

Create mosaics from a variety of media including ceramic, pottery, and colored glass tiles. Explore basic design principles and color theory. Learn to use specialized tools to cut and shape tesserae. Suitable for beginners or intermediate students who want to further their skills in creating mosaics.

Creative Aging Mosaics
Age: 50+

Same class structure as described in Mosaics: The Joy of Breaking Glass adapted for all experience, fitness, and wellness levels.
Students in this class may also bring dishes, cups, and other broken China to create Picassiette mosaics if desired.
