Hamilton, Ohio – Start the car. We know a whoopee spot where the cider is cold but the piano is hot.
Fitton Center resident mixologist Logan Adams’ latest signature cocktail – an adult take on apple cider she’s calling All That Jazz – gets ready to take center stage Saturday night, Oct. 22.
When guests arrive for the Empire Trio’s appearance in the Fitton Show Stoppers Series - as well as the Gallery Opening Celebration for the FotoFocus Biennial photography exhibition preceding the performance – they can enjoy a drink to match the shows.
Familiar, but not exactly what they might expect.
“Apple cider is a traditional fall drink, but rather than just serve a hard cider - or even a mulled cider served warm - I wanted to give it a little something special,” Adams said. “Think of it as apple juice with jazz hands. It looks and tastes like fall, but with a bit of big-city sophistication.” Just like the entertainment.
“All That Jazz” not only opens the classic Kander & Ebb musical Chicago, the song also appears in the Empire Trio’s show-opening medley to begin their unabashed love letter to musical theater – Bravissimo Broadway. While the trio creates remarkable three-part vocal harmonies, the cocktail sings sweetly with some tart and bitter notes in the mix.
