Holiday Events in the Community

The Fitton Center’s Community Engagement Team kicked off the holiday season this weekend by participating in two local events, Music on Main and the Hamilton Tree Lighting! Thanks to all our volunteers and everyone that stopped by that made these events so great.

Music on Main took place the night of Friday, November 19th on High St. in downtown Hamilton where we set up our tent and invited families to make a craft! We used recycled materials to make music shakers that the kids could then decorate with stickers, markers, duct tape and sequins. After they made a shaker, we invited them to make a guitar pick as well, made from old, donated gift cards, and the kids loved it!

The following night we headed over to Marcum Park to take part in the Hamilton Tree Lighting Ceremony where we had a great time. We set up some tables in the activities tent where our activity for the night was cookie decorating. The kids (and parents too) loved getting a chance to decorate their own cookie, maybe even as much as they loved getting to eat it!

We always love being able to get out in the community and be hands-on with the community members, so thank you so much to everyone that stopped by! Make sure you come see us at the next event we will be taking part in, the Breakfast at the North Pole in Liberty Township on December 4th from 8-10am. Follow us on social media and sign up for our newsletter to get more details about that event and more.
