City of Sculpture

In 2021, the StreetSpark Mural Program and Butler County Regional Transit Authority partnered to wrap three large buses with existing StreetSpark mural designs, creating mobile public art. In 2022, the groups invited artists to submit original designs for three smaller buses. There are currently seven BCRTA buses traveling throughout Butler County, displaying the diverse designs of our local artists!

Designer Description: Commitment to public art is indisputable within the Butler County area. The sculptures alone are only one part, and extremely recognizable. The public sculptures add value to the cultural, aesthetic, and economic vitality of the BCTRA area. Public art is accessible to all, just as the BCRTA is accessible to all. My design deconstructs the public sculptures in a manner to reexamine the pieces as a whole. The pieces are recognizable by shape, size, and texture. My design adds vibrant colors to add excitement, movement, adventure, and emotion. The design highlights the area’s art that provides strength of community, value, and an elevated sense of awareness for members and society.
