Need To See Art? Take A Virtual Tour!

By Intern Brandon Steinmetz

As we are all stuck in quarantine it has become increasingly hard to become inspired. For many of us one the ways we become inspired is by going to art museums and looking at other art. Due to COVID-19 we can no longer do that but fear not! There are plenty of museums that have taken it upon themselves to create virtual tours for people to enjoy the works of art and the institution while in the comfort of your own living room.

1. The Art Institute of Chicago

This museum is home to one of the largest permanent collections of art in the United States, and if I'm going to be honest, one of my favorites. They have a collection of over 600 works of art online to view.

2. The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Known as Americas finest art museum, the MMA has over 200,000 pieces of art that you can view online on their website, sure to keep you busy and inspired for hours.

3. Tate Britain

If you are wanting to be inspired by British art then this is the place to visit! Over 200 works of art are visible online for you to view!

There are many more art museums out there who are working with the community to create virtual tours for us to enjoy while we are stuck at home. Simply go onto an institutes web page and check if they have a section for it, I can guarantee they will! I hope you all are staying safe during this time and I will be back next week to bring you some more content that will hopefully brighten up your day just a little. :)
