Anything But a Brush Camp

Liberty Township, OH - OK, first of all, it's an art camp, not the national spelling bee.

Second of all, could it be any cuter?
One girl at the Fitton Center's Anything but a Brush drawing and painting camp - running this week in the Fitton at the Foundry satellite teaching studio in Liberty Center - created a pencil-and-crayon drawing of a bag of Doritos adorned with the words "Yum Yum Yum."
Only the artist spelled the popular tortilla chips D-R-E-T-O-S.
Given that the child was working from memory, not recreating a wrapper she found in her lunch box, that's a pretty good effort at sounding it out.
Throw in some artistic license and maybe the good folks at Frito-Lay (a wholly owned subsidiary of PepsiCo) will want to get in touch to inquire about her availability to join their graphic design team in a few years.
Or at least send over a few bags of cool ranch flavor for future inspiration.
Instructor Sharon Theard's charges are making everything from wearble art to role-playing games featuring handmade dice and player pieces, to dyed vegetables pressed into paper to create flower prints.
Students are building portfolios to house their work, which will go on display for friends and family at the end of camp. Campers also have an opportunity to share their work on a shared studio wall that will remain on view up the entire camp season.
